Our Number One Focus

It’s really easy to lose focus during the busy summer months. We’ve dedicated our summer to observe how Prairie River Camp is ran, become familiar with the team, fund raise for our ministry, and a laundry list of other goings on. But as we take a look back over the first few weeks of camp, we are reminded where our highest priorities lie: getting new students to camp and introducing them to the Gospel.

We were very hands-on during Middle School Camp. Since it was one of the first camps of the summer, we were able to shadow our team of staff and volunteers leading games, events, and chapel services. Everybody was having a blast participating in scheduled programming as well as free choice activities. One of our favorite parts about this week was joining in on cabin small groups and getting to know the staff and campers at a deeper level.

As the week went on, campers began to open up a little more during small groups and chapel times. They gradually realized that this is a safe place and the staff members genuinely care about their well being. During the last evening chapel service for the week, 54 students rededicated their life to Christ and 27 students prayed that prayer for the first time!

Countless memories are made at camp every summer, but the lasting impressions lie in the faith commitments that were made. It takes A LOT of people to help a camp become successful, and we are always in need of volunteers, prayers, and monthly donations to keep this ministry going. Please pray about how you can be a partner in our camp ministry. We honestly can’t continue this amazing work without your support.

God Bless,

Taylor, Megan, and Kendall
